Light and Shadow

A seed trembles in complete DARKNESS
inches under the surface of the earth.
Nestled in the pitch dense shade of a thin layer of soil, the desire to burst into LIFE surges like the tide. Like the need to purge.  Like the urge to run for your life . Like an intense curiosity that will not be denied .  
Vibrating intensely as the warmth of the surface GUIDES it towards the source of LIGHT.  The seed bursts open and upward with unimaginable force 
through the soil pushing like a mother in labor
in its drive to meet the solar source. 
It never once questions it’s mission.

Life giving LIGHT lands on the first two leaves of the tiny plant . Light searing but quenching the longing for photosynthetic nourishment.  Tiny leaves CASTING a PROTECTIVE SHADOW to keep the young roots cool. Roots who will never see the sun. Roots bringing water through it’s hair like rivers, shadows undercurrent felt as emotion. Leaves gathering light through their green veined sheer umbrellas felt as spirit. 
Life giving Light / Life giving Shadow. Emotions and spirits collide in the incarnated body to collaborate on earthbound existence. 
Resilient determined body alchemizes nutrients 
down from the ethereal sky and 
up from the heavy damp earth with great discretion.

The seedling is in a dance,
we are all in the dance,the ESSENTIAL dance, 
the polarity play of complimentary forces.
